Hi team,

Proof Of Competition

Following the previous report, the Ludus app Web 2.0 version finally now has its foundations and ready to start testing for users and then jump into production where more users can interact with. Thanks to the Ludus Assistant, the match creation process is much more user friendly for web to users.

Where does that leave Web 3?

Since I have full access to the code now, which is different from the previous Ludus versions, we can start a parallel project of the Ludus Web 3.0 version of the app.

Why keep Web 2 version alive?

Because, most of the people that play sports and use mobile apps nowadays, are non-tech people that want to use the tech to solve their issues, meaning they don’t really understand tech in general and even less the idea of Web 3 just yet.

How about all the apps in the Lens ecosystem and their +100k already users?

We will be building the Web 3.0 version to be compatible with lens ecosystem. And thanks to their Social graph, all users that already have an account will instantly be able to access the app, but most of the early adopters are not largely frequently sport players.

Which in part, one of our goals is increasing the number of users in Lens, but we needed to have a reference in web 2 to build from. Yes, there is competition out there, but they lack important features within the ecosystem like coaches and the Ludus League.

Being able to test the Ludus Assistant as well, with a regular database and try to incorporate as much as we can to get into the product market fit of our niche that we are targeting.

What is the main problem that Web 3 will help solve?

Money, incentive distributions, smart contracts, identity privacy and organization with relation to a blockchain timestamp. But mainly, the money part.

Its not that regular stores like Apple and Google Play can’t help with this, and this is part of the reason why two apps, but part of their job is to charge taxes for processing the transactions. Besides all good blockchain does, eliminating that tax will allow us to become more efficient.

What is the idea?

The initial architecture that we thought of is to start a project along the Lens developers team, in which we can post the creation of the match result to the chain within an NFT and distribute values through a smart contract according to the variables in the ELO rating to all participants.

We can use EAS, so participants can attest the results on chain once the match is uploaded and attested off-chain they would need to sign the NFT and then get the tokens from the smart contract based on the ELO ratings.

This NFT can be then posted to the Lens social graph under a Ludus account for users to share. This model can be applied to leagues and tournaments, as long as competitive matches are previously validated either physically or digitally.

Then from the result of that NFT, a smart contract can reward participants based on the schema of the attested NFT, distributing incentives for participating in the event.

So whats the plan?

Share this with our friends at Lens and start working on both the EAS schema based off the app’s schema for creating matches, and work on the Smart contract based on the R&D done with Obsidian repos and start testing it out throughout the next Quarter.
