Q1 Update: Athlete collection update, Metis Partnership announcement, roadmap update

Hi team,

First of all, I wanted to take a moment to send love to Ukraine and everyone affected by the war. We are better than this, and the only way to prove it is to build a future that we think will be better for the generations to come.

Athlete Collection

Our long-beloved Athlete collection is coming to completion, along with the team of artists, designers, and creators that became a part of the team Ludus more than 6 months ago we have worked countless hours on the detail of each trait, here are some of the results:

Metis Partnership

After analyzing our tokenomics model and our burning mechanism for the collection, I started looking at Layer 2 solutions on the Ethereum blockchain that would not comprise either the security of the network, with low fees, and with a strong community behind.

After applying for a grant application we got a meeting with their CTO, Pavel. I then came across a great article called The Optimistic Layer 2 Wars, by Alfonso de La Rocha.

Alfonso also talked about NFT bridges and a solution proposed by Pavel, which is soon to be released.

To quickly summarize it here is a table of the different rollups qualities:

Key points are:

• Lower validation times
• Decentralized “IPFS”
• DAC’s

Let's just remember that rollups are just like using public transportation with a lot of traffic in a city, the transactions happen off-chain then they get ‘roll-up’ to an on-chain transaction.

There is more information about decentralized IPFS to be released by the metis team soon.

Once we deploy on Andromeda (Metis chain) we will qualify for 30% of the network fees that will be distributed among projects.

The collection will be deployed initially in the Metis genesis NFT market, with the option of using the NFT bridge in the future.

Roadmap Update:

Finally, the date for the release of the collection.

Though everything is close to finishing and we can give out a specific date, instead we will release the collection in a meaningful block to the project.
